Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

Inaugurated on December 21, 2011, the new Theatre is a work of contemporary architecture that stands at the meeting point between the historic center of Florence, La Stazione Leopolda and the Cascine Park, the green lung of the city. It consists of three large music halls that can operate simultaneously: the opera house with 1800 seats (including stalls, boxes and gallery), an open-air cavea with 2000 seats and an auditorium. Conceived by the architect Paolo Desideri from the ABDR studio, it is the "new home" of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (one of the most important opera and symphonic foundations in Europe) and home of the main opera and symphonic season in Florence, as well as the historic opera festival of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
