Isola d’Elba
- Arcipelago Toscano
Elba is the largest of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago and the third largest in Italy. It embodies the charm and exclusivity of a territory rich in history, civilization and nature. There are eight municipalities on this beautiful island, each of which seems to be a small world with unique peculiarities (Portoferraio, Marciana, Marciana Marina, Campo nell'Elba, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina, Capoliveri, Rio Elba): this can be seen in the culture, traditions, language, architecture of the historic centers but also in the rocks and vegetation of the different slopes. Then there is the splendid sea surrounding the island, one of the largest marine parks in Europe. You can discover dozens and dozens of coves by boat, each one a surprise, like Fetovaia and Procchio. To reach the Island of Elba you need to take the ferry from Piombino Marittima, a place easily reachable by car, train or bus, where in summer four shipping companies have comfortable ships that make numerous multi-day trips to Portoferraio, Rio Marina and Cavo. The Piombino-Portoferraio route takes just over an hour.
