The Giannini family launched their bookbinding business under Pietro Giannini in the second half of the nineteenth century in Piazza Pitti, which is still the home of the artisan company today. This was the era of “Victorian” Florence and the shop became a point of reference for well-to-do English people who loved beautiful things. Today Guido Junior and Maria continue the traditions of the old workshop, attentive, however, to changing tastes and styles. They still focus on artistic book binding and restoration, but alongside they have decided to exploit the heritage of their substantial historical archives and to rediscover the ancient dies, stamps and papers that made the workshop so famous. Giving life to products that are contemporary but at the same time steeped in ancient charm, like their gorgeous scarves for example.
