The family business was started in the city of Ferrara by great-great-grandfather, Angelo. In 1861, the Melli family moved to Florence where they opened the well-known shop on the Ponte Vecchio. Today, Giovanno Melli follows in his grandfather Gustavo’s footsteps and carries on the business. The shop offers a sophisticated selection of eighteenth and fourteenth-century jewelry, in addition to old books and prints, miniatures, seals, silverware and precious collectables.
