Giardino di Carraia
- Via dell’Erta Canina
The San Niccolò district is home to this treasure trove of nature. Two hectares of vegetation behind Porta San Miniato, restored as a public park in 1990. Its name derives from its location, as it was once the road along which carts (the carraia) could be driven over the hill and in the direction of Ponte a Ema. The park comprises majestic trees as well as an imposing double stairway designed by Poggi in the late 19th century. There is a small soccer field and the palazzina of the aqueduct on its highest part.
