Caffè degli Artigiani

Created in 1945 as a coffe bar with billiard tables, and located in the same place as it is still today, it has always been loved by the artisans of the local area. Today, the Caffè degli artigiani is visited by Florentine people as well by tourists: open the whole day, it offers a wide selection of sandwiches, crostoni (toasted slices of bread) and piadine (a piadina is a thin Italian flatbread), not to mention the wonderful homemade cakes and the wide assortment of wines. During summer the tables are put outside, offering the possibility of enjoyng the atmosphere and the tranquillity of one of the most suggestive out-of-the-way bits of the Oltrarno quarter (literally: beyond the Arno) in Florence
