In Florence, the Wanda Café is opening

In the heart of San Frediano, the café bistro by Enrica Della Martira is open all day

In Florence, on Via Pisana, in the heart of San Frediano, Wanda Caffè opens its doors. A place open from morning till evening offering a wide range of options from breakfast to lunch, including English tea, aperitivo, and the unmissable Sunday brunch, all with a clear and precise identity: that of Enrica Della Martira, former contestant of Masterchef 2014 and now an esteemed Florentine chef. Wanda Caffè is also a project by siblings Domitilla and Giulio Marchi, entrepreneurs in the wine sector with their company Azienda Agricola La Querce, located in the Florentine hills.

Enrica Della Martira's passion for cooking stems from her close bond with her grandmother Wanda, whom she wanted to honor by naming her café after her: "I still taste on my palate the flavors of what we used to prepare together. My grandmother traveled a lot, just like me. Authentic journeys in search of flavors from around the world, which I wanted to bring home to blend with the dishes of my childhood."

Grandma Wanda's cuisine consisted of modern, light dishes, rich in flavor, with a myriad of tastes that blended perfectly while maintaining their authenticity. Enrica has embraced this legacy, incorporating the ethnic influences of her travel experiences and places she frequented for extended periods, such as the vibrant kitchens of New York and London, or the French cuisine, a country that according to Enrica, reigns supreme in breakfasts.

Here, everything is prepared in-house, from cakes to croissants, pancakes, and even the sauces, using carefully selected ingredients: the "Favola" mortadella, artichokes from Stefania Calugi, tuna from Acquapazza Gourmet, and caviar butter from Cru Caviar. Wanda Caffè aims to become a reference point for food enthusiasts who want to feel at home, without ever losing sight of sophistication and a welcoming atmosphere that is fresh but never intrusive. A convivial place that brings back memories of Sundays spent with family and satisfies the desire to be together.

  • BREAKFAST

For her new establishment, Enrica Della Martira has devised an All Day Menu that begins with a blend of French croissanterie and classic Italian breakfast. From the slightly savory croissants and pain au chocolat of romantic Paris to the breakfasts of our childhood with pastries, homemade cakes, and bread with butter and jam. And then filled sandwiches, warm baguettes, toast, and sandwiches for lovers of savory options.

  • LUNCH

Lunch combines home-style cooking with international flavors. Daily pasta specials, sunny-side-up eggs, peposo (Tuscan beef stew), as well as club sandwiches, smash burgers with fries, avocado toast, and grilled Caesar salad. Iconic dishes from the chef are also featured, such as the bun with slow-cooked pork, apples, and fennel, served with coleslaw and avocado; and a delightful reinterpretation of chicken curry, different from Eastern cuisine as it's prepared without cream and coconut milk, with the addition of apples and raisins. Another grandmother's recipe, designed to please the whole family's palate.

  • AFTERNOON TEA

In England, tea time is essential, a warm and welcoming moment, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or spending a relaxing afternoon. Enrica has recreated this tradition in her establishment, where she prepares a delightful English Tea accompanied by homemade treats and scones.

  • APERITIVO

To end the day, Italians' most beloved ritual: the aperitivo. The best way to recharge after work is to savor one of Kareem Bennet's cocktails, among the most creative bartenders on the Florentine scene. Homemade nachos and guacamole, focaccias with hummus, vegetable croquettes, and vegetable crudités with gorgonzola foam are just a few of the snacks that will accompany this offering.

  • SUNDAY BRUNCH

Sundays light up with the typical American brunch, where you can try pancakes with maple syrup or spelt pancakes with bananas, the latter also available in gluten-free and lactose-free versions. There's also yogurt bowls with granola and fresh fruit, and avocado toast with a choice of salmon, Prague ham, or poached egg. And once again, club sandwiches with low-temperature cooked chicken marinated in mustard, and smash burgers, with a hamburger meticulously crafted to find the perfect blend and a sauce born from one of Enrica's recipes.
