Located on top of one of the hills surrounding Florence, Piazzale Michelangelo is one of the most beautiful panoramic points of the city. To reach the square you can climb the Poggi Ramps that lead from Piazza Giuseppe Poggi to Piazzale Michelangelo, or, more simply, take a cab or a bus. At the center of the square stands a bronze replica of Michelangelo's David life-size, looking towards the Arno and the historic center. A few steps away are the magnificent Rose Garden and Iris Garden.

The Bardini Garden extends around the villa of the same name, on the southern hills of the city, not far from Forte Belvedere and from the area of the Boboli Gardens; most of the park is visible from Piazzale Michelangelo. The dates to mark in the calendar are: Thursday 9, Friday 10, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February, to which is added the special 14 February, Valentine's Day, on which Villa Bardini will not only be open in the evening but will also be free for all.
Valentine's Day at the Accademia Gallery

On Tuesday 14 February, the Accademia Gallery celebrates the feast of lovers with the ART INSPIRES LOVE #artinspireslove initiative, organised together with students from the Academy of Fine Arts photography course. In the Sala del Colosso and in the Tribuna del David two photo sets will be specially set up (in two time slots: 10-12 a.m., 2-4 p.m.) and all couples are invited to stop for a souvenir photo in front of Giambologna's imposing Rape of the Sabine Women or with the background of the admirable hero sculpted by Michelangelo, the David.
