Through the hills of Arezzo in the new Taycan Cross Turismo
Essential, expressive, timeless: discover the new 100% electric Porsche jewel
Whether it's in the corners of the hills, on the motorway or on quiet city streets, the new Taycan Cross Turismo is sporty and versatile and adapts well to different environments.
This is mainly due to its ground clearance. Compared to the Taycan saloon, Porsche's first electric car, the Taycan Cross Turismo has a chassis height that is 2 cm higher, to which a further centimetre can be added - thanks to the special Offroad Design off-road package - to bring it up to 3 cm. This is no mean feat and allows the Cross Turismo to venture effortlessly even on challenging off-road trails.
The latest Porsche - visible and available for testing in the Porsche Centre Florence - is not afraid to get dirty and adapt itself to different occasions. The standard 'Gravel Mode' is designed specifically for driving on gravel roads. An off-road variant of the 100% electric car from the German manufacturer which, like the saloon version, is equipped with an innovative electric drive with 800-volt architecture. The new high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension ensures uncompromising dynamic performance even off-road.
For our tour we started from Arezzo, where on Thursday 23 September a new Approved & Service branch was inaugurated, strongly oriented towards sustainable mobility, which deals with the service and sale of Approved Porsche vehicles. Porsche Italia has chosen to focus strongly on Tuscany to expand its influence in the area. The Arezzo branch will join the Centro Porsche Firenze, the main regional hub, with the aim of gradually increasing the weight of the brand in Italy to give a boost to the market for Porsche vehicles in Italy. The Arezzo centre is technologically advanced, equipped with the most modern diagnostic and assistance tools, with particular attention to the electric vehicle sector. What characterises the new facility is its focus on sustainable mobility. A centre specialising in the assistance and treatment of electric vehicles, covering an area of over 5,000 square metres, with a building of 1,300 square metres and an external area reserved for vehicle storage. The facility, located at 63/65 Via Giacomo Konz, is equipped with a modern vertical warehouse capable of handling a large quantity of spare parts, in order to serve and satisfy the largest possible number of customers.
On board the new Taycan Cross Turismo we arrived at the impressive Relais & Chateaux Il Falconiere & Spa. Here, a love of the land and ancient traditions inspired and guided the dream of the young Baracchi couple who in 1989 breathed new life into their family's ancient farmhouse, transforming it into an elegant wine resort in the heart of Tuscany.
A unique place, in the heart of Tuscany, where you can spend precious moments for the soul, amidst the sounds and fragrances of a sunny land. A Wine Resort with authentic charm, with all the services of a five-star hotel: 34 rooms and suites, a Michelin-starred restaurant, two outdoor swimming pools and an exclusive SPA. A luxury residence that seems suspended in space and time, preserving intact the simplicity of a family in love with Tuscany, of two young people who have been able to give shape to a dream.
"Enthusiasm and passion have always guided this magnificent adventure. And the dream has come true!", a philosophy that undoubtedly unites Porsche as well.
