This week in Florence (16/21 October)

From the opening of the Maggio Musical Fiorentino to the extraordinary Palio di Siena. Here are the "not to be missed" chosen for you

Tuesday 16: inaugurates the lyric season of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with the diptych Le Villi di Puccini and Ehi Giò di Montalti directed by Maestro Marco Angius. On the stage of the Opera di Firenze again on the 20th, 25th and 28th of October. The timeless Claudio Baglioni will be at the Nelson Mandela today and tomorrow with the new tour "At the Center".

Wednesday 17: at Teatro Verdi returns for two consecutive nights one of the greatest classics of the musical: Jesus Christ Superstar.

Friday 19: at the Nelson Mandela Forum David Garrett and His Band with Explosive Live.

Saturday 20: at 17:00 there is the extraordinary Palio di Siena, dedicated to the centenary of the end of the First World War. Then, returning to Florence, the unstoppable success of Sogno goes on and I am a great tour of the great Massimo Ranieri, at 9 pm at the Teatro Verdi. At the start also to the season of the Fiorentina Chamber Orchestra, this weekend in the Cenacle of Santa Croce: on the podium the director Giuseppe Lanzetta, at the piano Bruno Canino. Tonight at the Teatro Puccini the extraordinary replica of Caveman, the exhilarating show, with Maurizio Colombi and directed by Teo Teocoli, on the couple's relationship.

Sunday 21: last day for the millenary Feast of San Luca, at Impruneta, while the "chestnut-based" weekends continue around Tuscany. If you love art, do not miss two of the most important exhibitions of this autumn 2018: The Cleaner, the great retrospective at Palazzo Strozzi dedicated to Marina Abramović (until January 20th) and Da Magritte to Duchamp. 1929: the Great Surrealism from the Pompidou Center, at Palazzo Blu, Pisa until 17 February.
