The new Luxury Lounge at Harry's Bar
The historic restaurant celebrates its 65th birthday with a new exclusive space on the first floor
65 years of Harry's Bar in Florence. To celebrate the important anniversary, the Bechi family, owner of the restaurant, decided to create the new Luxury Lounge on the first floor.
A room on the lower floor style, with five windows overlooking the Lungarno and a bar counter with a brand new theme: the orange plants reminiscent of Simonetta Vespucci, an Italian noblewoman, one of the best known of the Renaissance, and Botticelli's muse, who 'made eternal immortalizing it in some of his most famous paintings.
Long list of famous people who have sat in this place, the only Harry's Bar in the world that descends directly from that of Venice, the Cipriani family. Among these Richard Burton in the company of Liz Taylor, Greta Garbo and Margaux Hemingway, actress and grandson of the great Ernest, who wanted to make one of the stools of the bar, sticking under the label of a champagne, still there, where she put it. And Robin Williams, who traveled to Florence for a whole day with the shirt of the local who gave him because he had poured wine on his shirt. But also Franco Zeffirelli, Paul Newman, the Ferrarist Jean Alesi, 007 Sir Roger Moore and Fernando Botero.
A myth since 1953. Always alive among the Florentines. Entrepreneurs who lunch at the same table, families who meet on Sundays, but also young people who, among the elegant boiseries, celebrate until the night the wedding among friends, among the piano bar and cocktails of the award-winning bar manager Thomas Martini .
A menu of dishes and cocktails that has remained stainless for 65 years, alongside new proposals that have never been affected by trends.
