The lights of Florence

Where to see the wonderful installations by F-Light

As usual from December 8th until January 6th, Christmas lights will show their full splendor.
On Saturday December 8th, the big fir tree in Piazza Duomo has been lit, but not only, because with him the spectacular installations signed by F-Light have returned and there has been no lack of news.

Video-mapping, projections, light games, exhibitions and artistic installations, but also activities in museums.

Do not miss one of this year's novelties: the big Christmas tree in Piazza Santa Maria Novella. An 18-meter cone composed of luminous rose windows, inspired by the architectural motifs and the marble inlays of the basilica's façade. But also the external loggia of the Museo del Novecento lights up with beams of color.
Then the bright projections are back on the most beautiful "canvas" of Florence, Ponte Vecchio, with a videomapping dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, "star" of 2019, the year in which the 500th anniversary of the death of the genius is celebrated.

Among other places touched by the festival: Piazza della Signoria, the Loggia del Pesce, the Basilica of Santa Croce and Sant'Ambrogio, but also Palazzo Medici Riccardi, la Rinascente, the Palace of the Chamber of Commerce, the Central Market, the Towers and the historical doors of the city, the façade of the Basilica of San Miniato, where there is also the Tree of Life, by the Florentine artist Roberta Cipriani, and piazza Santissima Annunziata.

But not only: for the first time F-Light leaves the center with installations at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, at the fountain of the Fortezza da Basso; in Settignano in piazza Niccolò Tommaseo, in piazza Elia da Costa, at the Isolotto footbridge and in the park of San Donato in Novoli.
