The Day of Memory in Florence
Initiatives to celebrate the date of January 27 and not to forget
January 27th was chosen as a day to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust during the Second World War.
To keep the memory alive and pass it on to the younger generations, every year with the Train of Memory, which has left Florence this year, 150 young volunteer educators from all over Italy visit Auschwitz; while from

Sunday, January 27 at 7 pm: Gianluca Brundo with his Passion Mundi - Journey into the soul; at the piano the Maestro Francesco Attesti
Wednesday, January 30 at 9 pm: Chronicles from the Shoah by Giuseppe Manfridi with Manuele Morgese accompanied by Fabrizio Bosso to the trumpet and Julian Oliver Mazzariello on the piano, directed by Livio Galassi

Free entry for Sunday 27 and a full program of initiatives:
11 am: before the two guided visits to the Museum (second at 12) Horizons. New looks on the art of the twentieth century. The dialogue with the works and visitors will be conducted by a group of migrants participating in the project, young people from various countries who have studied the art of our time and our peninsula by relating it to their history, their origins, their own homeland.
11 am: The Holocaust Memorial, exhibition of some projects of the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts of Washington University in St. Louis
5 pm: Inventory. The Fountains of Za'atari, conversation between the artistic director of the Sergio Risaliti Museum and the artist Margherita Moscardini. Project developed within the Za'atari refugee camp, born in 2012 in Jordan, where the artist lived for several months.
6 pm: Base for dialogue / evident structure / impossible structure, performance of the young Iranian artist Zoya Shokoohi
6:30 pm Giovanni Micoli and Maria Lucia Bianchi will read excerpts from Nobody knows about him by Ippolita Morgese
CINEMA THE COMPAGNIA
Sunday, January 27th:
3 pm: The sun on the skin, a documentary by Massimo Bondielli. The director will be present.
5 pm: A woman little more than a name, docufilm of Ornella Grassi dedicated to the Jewish scientist Enrica Calabresi. The director will be present.
7.30 pm: Pentcho by Stefano Cattini, documentary on an unlikely journey of 500 Jews who found salvation on a boat. The director will be present.

Sunday, January 27th at 5.30 pm: 'Bent' traveling performance based on the play by Martin Sherman and directed by Lorenzo Tarocchi.

Sunday, January 27 at 6 pm: in the Auditorium in Piazza Resistenza (tram stop Resistenza), the Regional School Orchestra ReMuTo and the Chorus of Voci Bianche in Florence and Scandicci present Brundibàr, Operina musical for small orchestra of ten soloists and chorus.
