The concerts unmissable of winter 2016 in Florence
That's the great musical guests that will be coming on the stages of the city
JANUARY
Dear 2016, we placeour hopes in you for a year full of happiness. Let’s start with a selection of concerts to enjoy. Friday the 15th, at the Nelson Mandela Forum, the world-famous Italian young pop tenors. Get ready for the concert of Il Volo.
On Monday the 18th and on Tuesday the 19th, the successful tour of our Lorenzo Jovanotti at the Nelson Mandela Forum.
Let’s conclude with another great event, the two unprecedented live performances by Zubin Metha. The first on Friday the 29th of January, with a four-hands piano duo -live music by Zubin Mehta and Stefano Bollani. The Tuscan pianist will play the Rhapsody In Blue by George Gershwin with the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The second concert will be on Saturday the 30th of January, with the fairy-tale musical show by Sergej Prokof’ev brought to life by the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale directed by Zubin Mehta, and with the unique narrating voice of Elio of the Elio e le Storie Tese. Same stage for the Queen of Italian Rock Music: Carmen Consoli, live at the Verdi Theatre.
FEBRUARY
You will not want to miss this month’s music events, will you? After more than 7 years, the Subsonica. On the 18th and 19th of February at the Viper Theatre.
Remember this date: Wednesday the 24th. At the Obihall, the comeback of astrophysic and legendary guitarist of Queen in a performance with actress and singer Kerry Ellis.
Still at the Obihall, on February 25 and 26, two performances by Max Gazzè.
Let’s now move to the Nelson Mandela Forum. On Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th: the “Brave Captains” - Claudio Baglioni and Gianni Morandi - get ready for a tour that will see them together for the first time.
On the 28th and 29th o February, at the Verdi Theatre, the music and the atmospheres of the performances by Franco Battiato and Alice.
