The best restaurants in Tuscany according to the Gambero Rosso 2024 guidebook

Between confirmations and news

There are 47 Italian restaurants to have won the Three Forks in 2024 of the Gambero Rosso's Guida Ristoranti d'Italia, and of these four are Tuscan.

The parameter - chosen by the guide for establishments that Gambero Rosso itself defines as the local avant-garde in all its forms and contexts - consecrates in first place with 93 points the Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, the restaurant of oenologist Giorgio Pinchiorri and his wife, the French-born chef Annie Féolde. Next with 91 points is Ristorante Da Caino in Montemerano (Grosseto), the realm of Valeria Piccini, one of the ten female starred chefs in Italy. Third place is shared ex aequo with 90 points by the Lorenzo Restaurant in Forte dei Marmi, birthplace of the Viani family, and Il Piccolo Principe of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio.

But it does not end here, among the trattorias, Trattoria Da Burde in Florence of brothers Paolo and Andrea Gori and Futura Osteria of chef Samuele Bravi in Monteriggioni (Siena) win the Three Prawns. Moi Omakase reconfirmed its Three Globes for the best Japanese cuisine in Prato, while Caffè dell'Oro won the Three Cocottes for the first time for its innovative proposal and the vintage 1950s style of furnishings typical of French bistros.

59 pizzerias in Tuscany featured in the Gambero Rosso 2024 guide, 14 of which were awarded the Tre Spicchi. Romualdo Rizzuti regains the Tre Spicchi with his pizzeria La Pizza by Romualdo Rizzuti at the Mercato Centrale Firenze. Il vecchio e il mare by Mario Cipriano and Pasquale Naccari wins the special prize for the best drinks menu. They confirm the Tre Spicchi: La Divina Pizza in Florence, Lo Spela in Greve in Chianti, Apogeo by Massimo Giovannini in Pietrasanta, 'O Scugnizzo in Arezzo, Bottega Dani in Cecina, Chicco by Stefano Canosci in Colle Val D'Elsa, Giotto by Marco Manzi that gets 6 Spicchi with the two restaurants in Piazza Santa Maria Novella and in Firenze Nord, Giovanni Santarpia in Florence, Il Vecchio e il Mare in Florence, Zenzero Osteria della Pizza in Pisa, La Pergola by Tommaso Vatti in Radicondoli, La Ventola in Rosignano Marittimo Battil'Oro Fuochi + Lieviti + Spiriti by Gennaro Battiloro in Seravezza.

For coffee and aperitif lovers, there are 45 establishments that have earned the Three Cups and Three Beans 2024 in Tuscany: Tuttobene in Campi Bisenzio (Florence), the historic Gilli and Paszkowski cafés in Florence and Ditta Artigianale also in Florence.

Among the Three Bottles, with partner Petra, new entry is Innocenti Wines in Poggibonsi where the choice is among 1,300 labels available, while the Enoteca Bruni in Florence with over 3,000 references and the Enoteca Marcucci in Pietrasanta with its reserve of labels started in 1987 are reconfirmed.

Lastly, there were also four Special Prizes: Da Caino in Montemerano as the restaurant that makes the most of Italian EVO oil, with partner Frantoio di Santa Téa; Silene in Seggiano for Best Vegetarian Proposal, with partner Consorzio Vini Alto Adige; Papaveri e Papere in San Miniato for Quality Price, with partner Ferzo Wines and Podere Belvedere Tuscany in Pontassieve owned by Edoardo Tilli and Klodiana Karafilaj, for Tradizione Futura, supported by Moët & Chandon.
