The best aperitifs in Florence
The top places to drink your favorite cocktail
In a city where the culture of fine drinking shines with tradition, there are many places worth relaxing with a perfectly crafted drink. From historic cafés to the most exclusive bars, the city is the ideal place to enjoy an aperitif or a night out with friends, immersed in the enchanting atmosphere of its center. The squares fill with tables, the streets come alive, and at the end of a long day, after-work drinks become a moment of lightness and carefree enjoyment, sipping a cocktail with company.
The aperitif in Florence is a ritual with deep roots. The iconic drink of this culture is undoubtedly the Negroni, one of the most beloved and international cocktails, which was born right in the historic streets of Florence. It is said that the drink was created in the 1920s when Count Camillo Negroni, a regular at the then Caffè Casoni (now Giacosa1815), asked the bartender to add some gin to his Americano, a cocktail made with red vermouth, soda, and bitter. From that moment, the Negroni became one of the most appreciated and iconic cocktails in international mixology.

Stepping into Giardino 25 means entering a space where the charm of a traditional Tuscan workshop merges with the sophistication of a French bistro, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The exposed wooden beams on the ceiling harmonize with the 18th-century-style wainscoting, while finely carved columns and mustard-yellow panels lend the place a timeless elegance. Behind the bar, the raised mirrored tiles reflect light, enhancing the perception of space, while the large peacock-blue leather sofas and upholstered chairs invite you to relax in intimate lounges that almost feel private. It is a place that can be both intimate and sociable, depending on the time of day. The parquet floor with inlays evokes artisanal refinement, while the marble tables and dark wood chairs echo timeless classicism. The peacock-blue leather and mustard-yellow, which dominate the sofas and bar, draw inspiration from the iconic colors and details of the Gucci Osteria, creating an aesthetic continuity between the two experiences. This space has a dual personality: by day, it serves as a cozy refuge for quiet pauses, and by night, it transforms into a lively, sophisticated hub for events. This duality is reflected in the culinary offerings, with dishes prepared in the in-house kitchen, and especially in the drinks menu, curated by bar manager Martina Bonci, who creates balanced and colorful cocktails, including the Mémoire di Negroni, a tribute to Italy's most famous cocktail.
