Pedro Sandoval at Palazzo Corsini
25 works from the Italian Renaissance brought to life in a pop art key with Venezuelan artist on display for the first time in Florence
Celebrated Venezuelan-Spanish artist Pedro Sandoval, an art genius ahead of his time, thanks to the collaboration of visionary Italian entrepreneur Gregorio Maiorano, presents in Florence his first exhibition created with artificial intelligence. These are works made with painting on methacrylate canvas in a Pop Art key. This exhibition, considered the first Phygital exhibition in history internationally, is the result of the artist's deep study of the human figure and new art concepts, in a Pop Art key with the fusion of Renaissance and contemporary images.
The works, meticulously hand-crafted with materials such as oil, resin, spray, acrylic and gold, are part of the Girls from Tuscany series: more than 1,000 images of iconic women from history, including Cleopatra, Nefertiti, the famous Mona Lisa, as well as Michelle Pfeiffer, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Marilyn Monroe, Queen Letizia Rania of Jordan, Botticelli's Venus, Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with an Ermine and many others.
The most iconic work in the collection, on display in Florence, is The Girl from Tuscany, which interprets the idea of perfection and was born from the purest imagination combined with technology. The Florentine exhibition marks a milestone in contemporary art: in fact, for the first time an avant-garde artist is using technology and artificial intelligence to create art that, in the future, will be included in major museums.
Pedro Sandoval, a creator without limits, engages the viewer in each of his works, immersing them in his characters and landscapes. After the exclusive presentation on March 14 in Florence, the exhibition moves to Rome to Via del Babuino 78, home of the first international pop art gallery in Rome, where it remains until 2025 on the occasion of the Jubilee.
