240 pages, in two languages (Italian/English), pocket size, with more than 230 photos, for a guide not to be missed for lovers of beauty, more a small art book than a guide. A project promoted by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, organizer of the great international event Homo Faber, together with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte, and realized by the publishing house Gruppo Editoriale, which is proud to pay homage once again to the masters of craftsmanship, expanding the series of "made-to-measure" books on beauty, which already boasts titles dedicated to cities such as Milan, Florence and "Made-to-measure Italy", which includes a selection of 100 of the best Italian artisan workshops (www.italia-sumisura.it).
Thanks to the Regional Direction Museums Veneto of the Ministry of Culture and to Palazzo Grimani, with the support of Venetian Heritage, an international organization for the safeguard of the city, the presentation of the guide was held in the magnificent Hall of the Portego of the Museum of Palazzo Grimani in Venice. The meeting was attended by the master craftsmen protagonists of the guide, with journalists, important Venetian personalities of culture and institutions: the dialogue moderated by Alberto Cavalli, General Manager Fondazione Cologni and Executive Director Michelangelo Foundation, was attended by Stefano Micelli, Professor of Economics and Business Management at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice; Lorenzo Cinotti and Laura Scarpa, of Alto Artigianato Venezia and Venezia da vivere; Matteo Corvino, Events & Interior Designer, and Matteo Parigi Bini, Publisher Gruppo Editoriale. At the end of the conference, the guests were invited for a toast with the bubbles of Bisol, a historic Venetian company of excellence, always present in Venice.
Venezia su misura is a poetic yet practical map that will accompany you among the excellences of the Lagoon, passing through the incredible workshops of the Venetian Master Craftsmen, where you can discover corners suspended in time and admire gestures that are as natural as they are absolutely perfect, to the point of recalling an authentic ritual that enchants the eye. A magic that gives life to unique creations, of an amazing perfection, among which the publisher has chosen together with the artisans the most iconic.
Through the stories and unpublished photos of Dario Garofalo, Venezia su misura recounts the best of Venetian artistic craftsmanship, from glassmaking to jewelry, passing through décor, tailoring, gondolas, masks and weaving, as well as bespoke tailoring and footwear. Works of beauty that are revealed to those who have the taste, time and desire to discover a city more evocative, authentic and original.
