Open Day at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze
The yearly charity event for Istituto degli Innocenti returns on Sunday 13 December
This year will be the eighth edition of the charity event, following last year's Open Day which saw some 9,000 visitors come together over the Christmas period in the wonderful gardens of Florence's Four Seasons Hotel.
Dedicated to a very important part of the Tuscan capital's history, the Open Day offers children a very special Sunday with a fun space created just for them and their accompanying adults. All the "classic" entertainments are guaranteed - like all-day music from Radio Tuscany, the all-important presence of Santa Claus, the Bottega dei Grassi Nesi and its amazing Christmas decoration-making workshop, and the "Piccolo Coro Melograno" choir who will be making musical magic - as well as an exciting new feature: the restaurants' corner.
An array of stellar chefs will be in attendance, starting with Michelin-starred Vito Molica from Il Palagio, and continuing with colleagues from Buca Lapi and Il Latini as well as Enoteca Pinchiorri, La Giostra, La Tenda Rossa from San Casciano and Mercato Centrale. Needless to say, their culinary creations will embrace the best of Tuscany's winter traditions, with tasty meat dishes and aromatic vegetables. Guests to the event are now eagerly awaited.
For the symbolic donation of just euro, they will be able to help protect the Istituto degli Innocenti's gardens for the more than two hundred children who know there's a place there for them. More than 37,000 euro was collected last year and the organizers hope to match this success at the 2015 edition.
