Minotti opens its showroom in Florence
In piazza Strozzi the timeless style of the well-known brand's contemporary furniture
In the place that symbolises Italian rebirth and culture in the world, a new Minotti flagship store. An innovative and strategic choice for the brand, with 47 single-brand stores in the world, but increasingly aimed at strengthening the distribution network in Italy as well.
Now in Florence, in the heart of the city in Piazza Strozzi, in a two-storey volume of about 250 square metres characterised by historic arcades on the façade, Minotti's timeless contemporary vision is introduced into the architectural language of the historic building that houses it. The ground floor houses most of the display area, while the first floor houses the operative offices, a boardroom and the management office.
Between contemplation, genius loci and respect for the pre-existing, nothing has been touched on the historical elements of the Renaissance shell, and the exhibition project has developed on the theme of the 'second skin': capitals, vaulted ceilings, pilasters are free to express themselves by witnessing the spectacle of the contemporary box dropped into their spaces.
The colour palette and the choice of materials play with contrasts between wenge-coloured oak panelling and false ceilings and the extensive use of white plaster and satin-finished steel, which, with its reflection, reverberates the space, presenting itself both as a simple septum and as a chimney, the characterising element of the entire exhibition floor.
The path is marked by the succession of rooms whose passage from one to the next is characterised by wengé oak portals that also become the architectural sign used near the floor changes. From the extended living rooms with the Connery and Roger seating systems designed by Rodolfo Dordoni as protagonists, to the more intimate ones with a Japanese-Danish flavour with the Lars and Sendai pieces by Inoda+Sveje, the exhibition itinerary suggests different scenarios of home and hospitality furnishing, proposing many new suggestions from the exclusive reception area with the Clive bench to the master bedroom with the Roger Bed, to the dining room with the precious Marvin table, again designed by Architect Rodolfo Dordoni.
