Middle East Now 2020

From 6 to 11 October, in Florence, the Festival of cinema, art and culture in the Middle East

The 11th edition of Middle East Now, initially scheduled for last April, is finally ready to start on the new dates, from 6 to 11 October 2020 in Florence.
The special review that presents the most contemporary Middle East culture
through cinema, documentaries, art, comics, music, food, meetings and special events.

Between Cinema La Compagnia and Cinema Stensen, 37 titles in program, awarded in the best international festivals, including 13 short films, 21 Italian premieres, 10 international premieres, 2 world premieres. A trip to Afghanistan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Arab Emirates, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kurdistan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey.

Visual Voices is the theme of this edition: the story of how visual cultural expressions are active tools of social engagement in the Middle East, how "images and voices", together, launch strong messages of change, now more necessary than ever.

Among the special events:
_ the photographic exhibition "7x7. Seven by Seven" at MAD Murate Art District,
7 emerging photographers tell 7 days of life in 7 different cities in the Middle East;
_ the "comic book Middle East", an exhibition and a series of talks with the authors, to observe the Middle East from a different point of view.
_ and more music, the library installation and Talk program and presentations on the hot topics of the Middle East today.
