Maraviglioso Boccaccio and Tuscany

All the sites of the new film by the Taviani brothers

After the triumphant success of Caesar Must Die, which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, the Taviani brothers are inspired by five stories of the Decameron for the highly anticipated Marvelous Boccaccio.

The background is that of the fourteenth-century Florence hit by the plague, pushing ten young to take refuge in the countryside and spend time telling of short stories. Dramatic or witty, erotic or grotesque, all stories have a really unique, great protagonist: love, in its many nuances.

It will just love to become the best antidote for all the suffering and the uncertainties of an era.

Also thanks to an exceptional cast that brings together some of the best contemporary Italian actors, Marvelous Boccaccio promises to be one of the great events of this film season.

Marvelous Boccaccio was shot between Tuscany and Lazio, in some of the most beautiful places in central Italy. In Tuscany stand Spedaletto castle and Torre Tarugi Pienza, the millennial Castle Potentino, in Grosseto, and Badia a Settimo in the municipality of Scandicci, Hermitage Castle in Montalcino and Palazzo Nobili Tarugi (attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Elder) to Montepulciano, up to Villa La Sfacciata, which rises above Florence with a unique view of the world.
