Pitti Uomo 107 at the Fortezza da Basso from 14 to 17 January 2025
Everything is ready for the summer edition of the international menswear event
From 14 to 17 January, the winter edition of Pitti Uomo, number 107, takes place at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. The spotlight is on the Autumn/Winter 2025 collections of about 790 brands, 45% of which are foreign.
Pitti Uomo is a voyage of discovery of menswear and its evolutions, the stage on which to present novelties, ideas and collaborative projects: through an itinerary divided into five sections (Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling and I Go Out) and a selected programme of special events, it offers a complete vision of the many souls of men's fashion.
Two guest designers this season: Satoshi Kuwata chooses Florence for the first real fashion show of his brand Setchu, while MM6 Maison Margiela creates a 100% menswear collection exclusively for Pitti Uomo. And many others will be the unprecedented projects presented in the Fortezza, also through connections with art and photography, from the brands of reference to the most innovative research operations and the lifestyle world, which is becoming increasingly decisive.
‘Fashion is going through a complex phase of transition,’ comments Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, ‘that we at Pitti Immagine cannot just observe: we have to interpret it, translate it into market choices and communication content, even taking risks. We have pushed, for example, more than in the past, on the product mix, boldly mixing the cards between fashion and lifestyle'.
Salon theme
In January, the Pitti Immagine winter salons chose the unifying element of fire to express the characteristics and spirit of the coming season: FIRE is the theme of the new advertising campaigns, coordinated by creative director Angelo Figus with graphic editing by Alessandro Gori. The I'm on FIRE campaign for Pitti Uomo was interpreted by photographer Andrea Ariano: four male portraits flare up, giving the viewer an emotional, warm and sensual image that, in the mini-clip accompanying the campaign, acquires a slight movement, like a burning flame. FIRE will also inspire the installations in the Fortezza da Basso, curated by Alessandro Moradei. ‘It is the recognition of the generative force of this primary element,’ comments Agostino Poletto, General Director of Pitti Immagine. ‘Fire brings together and warms bodies and souls, it attracts attention and signals direction, it serves to play, to amaze, to inspire, to fuse old ideas and habits and to forge new ones. As fashion does. We will create sparks, ignite desires, focus on problems and proposals. As Pitti Uomo always does’.
The route
The Fortezza da Basso welcomes the Pitti Uomo exhibitors, offering visitors a mix of brands and genres that intercepts and satisfies the needs of the market. Confirmed are the five sections - Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling and I Go Out - presenting the Fall/Winter 2025 collections: from classic to informal, passing through the world of research and outdoor. To these is added the novelty of this edition Knees Up Running Space @ Pitti Uomo 107, a multifunctional space that was born in London from the intersection of fashion, running and events.
