Florence: the next major events in theater

Do not miss appointments this winter in the major theaters of Florence

JANUARY
From January 23 to February 7 at the Opera di Firenze, there will be the ballet with music by De Falla entitled El Amor Brujo and the one-act opera Goyescas or Los majos enamorados di Granados, Guillermo García Calvo will direct the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino orchestra, cantaora e bailaora Maria Toledo.

FEBRUARY
On the 9th and 10th at the Opera di Firenze, a big carnival party with the adventures of Fra Diavolo set to music.

From 11th to 21st at the Teatro della Pergola, Alessio Boni and Marcello Prayer in I Duellanti (The Duellists) by Joseph Conrad, directed by Alessio Boni with Roberto Aldorasi.

From 26 February to 6 March at the Teatro della Pergola, Filippo Timi and, among others, Marina Rocco in Casa di Bambola (A Doll’s House) by Ibsen, directed by Andrée Ruth Shammah.

MARCH
From 8th to 13th at the Teatro della Pergola, Rocco Papaleo in Onda su onda (Wave After Wave) following the release of the film with the same name.

On 14th at the Teatro della Pergola, the highly anticipated concert by The King’s Singers (Amici della Musica/Friends of Music season).

On 17th at the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, as part of the new exhibition Note al Museo (Notes in the Museum), the concert In Italia con Händel (In Italy with Händel) with the Il Rossignolo ensemble, specialized in studying and performing on period instruments, and the mezzo-soprano Laura Polverelli (free admission upon booking tel. +39 055 2302885).

APRIL
From 7 to 10 April, at the Teatro Verdi, Luca Ward and Vittoria Belvedere in the musical Tutti insieme appassionatamente (The Sound of Music), directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo.

On 10the at the Teatro della Pergola, Jordi Savall with the Hesperion XXI (Amici della Musica/Friends of Music season).

From 15 to 24 April at the Teatro della Pergola, Pierfrancesco Favino, 12 actors and 4 musicians get to grips on stage with the new show La controra (The Early Afternoon) from The Sisters by Anton Chekhov and set in southern Italy in the 50s.
