Florence lights up with the Festival F-light 2021
Until January 9, 2022, lights and projections turn on the most famous monuments of the city
Christmas 2021 is here, the city is dressed in colorful lights and there is no shortage of events around for young and old alike. As has become tradition, the F-light festival, decorated Christmas trees, luminarias and many other initiatives are back.
It is entitled "Reflections. Where we are, where we will go" is the title of the 2021 edition of F-Light - Firenze Light Festival, the festival of lights promoted by the City of Florence and organized by MUS.E, under the artistic direction of Sergio Risaliti, which until January 9 will light up some of the most important squares and locations in Florence, from Ponte Vecchio to the Galilei Museum, from Piazza San Lorenzo to Palazzo Medici Riccardi, from the Chamber of Commerce to Piazza Santissima Annunziata, up to the towers, the gates of the city and the suburbs.
Every day from 17:30 to 24:00 Florence will light up thanks to a series of artist illuminations including the iconic videomapping on Ponte Vecchio, a projection on the theme of "reflection". At the end of the Dante year, the projections on the facade of the Museo Galileo and the Chamber of Commerce will propose a vision of the Divine Comedy. It will be the occasion to admire also the permanent illuminations that from the beginning of December will light up the David in bronze at Piazzale Michelangelo, the facade of the basilica of Santa Maria Novella and the bell tower of the Badia Fiorentina.
On the occasion of F-LIGHT Firenze Light Festival 2021-2022 the Sala d'Arme in Palazzo Vecchio will host - until January 12, 2022 - the final exhibition of WONDERFUL!, the award in support of Italian art under 40 organized by the Museo Novecento and promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Florence in collaboration with MUS.E and realized thanks to the commitment of Publiacqua, always on the side of contemporary art.

Among the other initiatives designed by the city to cheer the holidays are until January 16 Ferris wheel in Piazza Fallaci, with skating rink and Christmas village, and from December 7 to January 6 Christmas music in Piazza Signoria and San Firenze offered by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
