Until January 7, 2025, in fact, the City of Florence and Fondazione MUS.E, in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Florence and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism are lighting up the city with Florence Lights Up, a spin-off of the Christmas initiatives dedicated to light. Video-mapping is back on Ponte Vecchio, enchanting citizens and visitors to the city during the Christmas season.
“The multiplicity of shapes, volumes, colors and surfaces of one of the world's best-known bridges will be the canvas on which the video artists are invited to lay out this year's themes,” as the organizers explain, in line with the Enjoy Respect Firenze communication campaign developed by the Destination Florence Foundation, an invitation to enjoy the city's beauty with care and respect for its heritage.
The same goes for the facades of Palazzo Vecchio and the church of San Paolino. Light also in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, on the facade of the Chamber of Commerce, and in the Medici Garden of Palazzo Medici Riccardi.
Also illuminated were Via Tornabuoni, the facades of the La Rinascente maxi store, the Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo and Florence's natural shopping centers.
