Events in Florence: what to do in the weekend of October 2 and 3

Exhibitions, festivals, cinema and theater: the events not to be missed in the city

Art, exhibitions, festivals and much more. The first weekend of October is full of unmissable events, let's discover them together:

• From October 1 to 3, the Garden of Horticulture in Florence hosts the autumn exhibition of plants and flowers 2021 organized by the Tuscan Society of Horticulture. A 3-day free admission with many opportunities to renew and color the garden and the balcony.

• In Piazza Santa Croce on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October 2021 we find the International Ceramics Fair. More than 80 artists from all over Europe will showcase fine porcelain, majolica, but also the Japanese technique of raku.

• Contemporary art returns to Florence: Jeff Koons at Palazzo Strozzi, Jenny Saville at the Museo Novecento, and Francesco Vezzoli in Piazza della Signoria.

• Welcome return of Tuttosposi, the fair dedicated to the world of weddings from Thursday, September 30 to Sunday, October 3, 2021.

• Until October 3, 2021 there is the Middle East Now 2021, a festival dedicated to the culture of the Middle East, hosted in two historic cinemas in Florence, the cinema La Compagnia and cinema Stensen

• The theater season starts again in Florence. It opens the curtain of the Teatro della Pergola from 1 to 14 October offers the national premiere of the show "The Dubliners". As for the opera, at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino there are the replicas of Verdi's Traviata.

• Antonello Venditti will be in concert at the Ultravox Firenze- Anfiteatro delle Cascine Ernesto De Pascale on Saturday October 2nd.
