Estate Fiesolana 2015

From June 21 to July 26, music, theater, cinema, dance and special events in Fiesole

If the full program of events of summer 2015 is not enough, part of the 68th edition Estate Fiesolana (Summer Fiesolana). 30 appointments of music, cinema, theater and dance, who will alternate from 21 June to 26 July. In addition to the historical Teatro Romano, this year for the first time it will also be at the Terme Romane, always within the Archaeological Area of Fiesole.

From jazz to Stefano Bollani, Enrico Rava and Hiromi, to the cinema with the master of horror Dario Argento, the theater of Maurizio Lombardi and Arianna Scommegna, to the classic with the Dutch composer Louis Andriessen, through dance, with the Balletto di Toscana , Opus Ballet and the Ballet of Florence.

JUNE

The preview will be on June 11 at the Teatro Romano, with Facciamo un’opera with the elementary school children of Fiesole.
The festival will officially start on June 21 with a concert by the Orchestra dei ragazzi conducted by Edoardo Rosadini.
On June 23, the jazz section, in collaboration with Music Pool, with the trump of Enrico Rava for Living Coltrane, the saxophonist Stefano Cantini project dedicated to the myth of Coltrane.

June 27: Le roi David of Arthur Honegger. Salmo symphony for soloists, chorus, orchestra and narrator, performed by the Orchestra and Coro Desiderio da Settignano.
June 28: the Pilgrims, gospel choir conducted by Maestro Gianni Mini, from spirituals to pop music.
June 29, this time to the Terme Romane, still jazz with Daniel Malvisi six group, in a tribute to Miles Davis.
June 30: even the Terme Romane, the tribute to Luca Flores, pianist and jazz composer much loved in Florence, with Alessandro Fabbri on drums, Alessandro di Puccio vibraphone, Guido Zorn on bass and Mauro Avanzini on sax.

The special events of June, the concert of historic American rock band Television (Teatro Romano, 17 June) and the Medea, Euripides' masterpiece, directed by Gabriele Lavia (19 and 20 June).

JULY

July starts with an appointment with the dance: Due danze per Firenze con Opus Ballet e Balletto di Firenze.

July 5: Chorus R. Corona of Livorno, sacred vocal music.
July 2: the star Japanese Hiromi, for the first time in Florence with the Trio Project
July 7: back to the dance, with Giovani stelle in una notte di mezza estate
In July, also the theater , in the Terme Romane.
July 8: I could be the one of the theater company Dionisi, a monologue written by Renata Ciaravino.
July 9: Madame Bovary, written by and starring Lorena Senestro, while on July 10, the Omini with La famiglia campione.
11 July: back to theTeatro Romano, the Compagnia Junior Balletto di Toscana interpret Giselle, by Eugenio Scigliano.
July 14: it will be represented at the Terme Romane, Il piccole Principe (The Little Prince), a masterpiece of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, with music by Massimo Flips.
July 15: the quintet Simone Graziano Frontal, along with two of the best contemporary saxophonists, Ed Binney and Dan Kinzelman (Terme Romane).
July 16: Stefano Bollani will present his new album Sheik yer Zappa, which revisits and reinterprets the late Frank Zappa.

July 17: Association Musicae presents Vijecnica: the Library of Sarajevo (Terme Romane).
July 18: the show of I gruppi da camera dell’Orchestra Giovanile Italiana with music by Victor Ewald, Francis Poulenc and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Terme Romane).
After Servillo, Nanni Moretti, Gianni Amelio, Spike Lee, Bernardo Bertolucci and Ken Loach and other important directors Dario Argento will be among the guests to pick up the 'Fiesole Award for Masters of cinema', on June 19 at the Teatro Romano. The day will start at 18.30 with a meeting with the public, will follow the awards ceremony and a screening of one of his masterpieces, Profondo Rosso (Deep Red).

July 26: close this series of great evenings at the Teatro Romano, the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, under the expert guidance of Renato Rivolta.

Two appointments Istituto degli Innocenti in Piazza SS. Annunziata in Florence: on July 22 with a concert by Marco Pierobon on trumpet and brass ’Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, with music by Paul Dukas, Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin and various traditional, and on July 23 the tribute to Louis Andriessen, considered one of the best known Dutch composers living.
