Duco Travel in Florence from 21 to 25 March
The international event dedicated to high-end tourism is back in Tuscany
Duco Travel Summit, the international event dedicated to high-end tourism, returns to animate the Florentine spring from March 21 to 25. 230 operators are expected from all over the country (48 from Tuscany: 45 five-star hotels and 3 tour operators to be precise) and 192 international buyers from the United States (150), the United Kingdom (9), Australia (13) and Europe.
An opportunity to meet supply and demand, but also to make Tuscany known. Last year the leitmotif chosen was food and wine: this time it will be a tribute to culture and ancient history, in a territory that preserves traces of thousands of years of civilizations that have overlapped over the centuries.
"In this historical moment - said the Councillor for Tourism of the City of Florence, Cecilia Del Re - it is important to continue to support sectors that also from the point of view of employment can give impetus to a much-needed restart. This is the case of high-end tourism, to which the Duco Travel Summit is addressed, which, thanks to Toscana Promozione Turistica and Destination Florence, still chooses Florence, and this represents an opportunity for the whole sector".
The main sponsor and co-organizer of the event is the Region of Tuscany through the agency Toscana Promozione Turistica, which, in addition to the general framework of the summit, from March 25th to 27th, has also organized tours and visits in the different territories: from the Valdichiana of Arezzo to Versilia and the Apuan Riviera, from the Valdichiana of Siena and the Val d'Orcia to Saturnia and the Maremma of the South, and then from Chianti to Empolese Valdelsa and Montalbano and from the lands of Valdelsa to Etruria Volterra and Siena.
The international event dedicated to high-end tourism in Italy was born from an idea of Carolina Perez, and is realized thanks to the constant support of Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau, which since the first edition has been co-sponsor and partner for the destination of Duco Italy's guests, and will take advantage also this year of the hospitality offered by some of the most important luxury hotels in Florence and other Tuscan destinations.
In addition to the tours organized for operators, there will also be four appointments for the Italian and foreign trade press. Moreover, in collaboration with the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, two days of visits are scheduled, on March 20th for journalists and on the 21st for buyers, to the Florentine exhibition Donatello, the Renaissance.
Duco's workshops will be hosted in the Florentine hotels Four Seasons, St Regis & Westin Excelsior Florence and Villa La Massa. Fifteen-minute meetings between operators and buyers are scheduled.
