Vini Eroici Masterclass, Taste 2025
January 30, 2025

Discover the allure of Heroic Wines at Taste 2025

Book your masterclass (at a special price) to discover rare and unique labels with industry experts

From February 8 to 10, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence will be transformed into the capital of Heroic Viticulture, a journey through extreme territories and bottles that tell stories of courage and tradition. Taste 2025 celebrates Heroic Wines, those born on volcanic soils, at high altitude, on sheer cliffs or in extreme weather conditions.

“The innumerable local traditions, the infinite facets of the territory are also reflected in the precious variety of our winemaking heritage: the best fruits seem, paradoxically, sometimes to arise from territories that are only seemingly improbable or extreme. In these extreme territories, on steep slopes, boiling sands, between volcanic rocks and snow, where the cultivation of vines and a close struggle with nature where harvesting is toil and sweat but also satisfaction, a lot of it, so-called heroic wines are born. [...] They are niche wines, reserved for those who know how to recognize the authentic flavors of nature, with their own precise positioning. We need to talk about them, make them known, accompanying them commercially in the various markets through themed events to promote them not only to the professional world, but also to the public of enthusiasts,” said Alvaro De Anna, founder of the Vini da Terre Estreme project and curator of the special area on Heroic Wines at Taste 2025.
