Brevissime, arts history lectures return to the Gucci Archives in Florence
From March 14 to May 30, 8 lectures by landscape architects, historians, writers and philosophers
From March 14 to May 30, at 6:45 p.m., in the beautiful Gucci Archives in Florence, exceptionally open to the public for this occasion, the fifth season of the Brevissime Lezioni di storia delle arti, the outreach initiative conceived by the Di Center in 2022. This season, entitled Paradiso in terra, is dedicated to the vast yet fascinating theme of landscape and the nature that makes it up.
It starts on March 14 with architect Eugenio Pandolfini and his Hidden Landscape, followed on April 4 by archaeologist Anna Anguissola with Nature in a Room. Garden Paintings, Artificial Caves and Exotic Landscapes in the Houses of Pompeii, the two meetings - April 11 and 18 - with landscape architect Filippo Pizzoni on Art and Landscape in the 20th Century: a Constant Dialogue , from the Avant-Garde to Land Art and The "Fashionable" Garden: Mutual Influences between Italy and England, landscape architect Anna Lambertini on May 9 with Cultivating Urban Soils. On the Contemporary Design of Gardens, Landscapes, Open Spaces, with Professor of Arboreal Crops Giuseppe Barbera on the topic of Citrus on May 16, and again on May 23 with writer Luca Scarlini with The Blue Flower. The Garden as a Literary Work, and finally the lecture Trees, Trees, Trees... by agronomist and arboriculturist Giovanni Morelli that closes the fifth season of Brevissime on May 30.
Lecture tickets can only be purchased at www.brevissime.org. They cannot be purchased on the evening of the lecture at Palazzo Settimanni. Full price ticket: 13€ Ticket under 26: 5€. Free ticket: there are complimentary tickets, donated by other participants, intended for under 26, which can be reserved on the website under Suspended Ticket.
Exceptionally on the occasion of Brevissime, before each lecture, three groups of people will be able to take guided tours of the Gucci Archives, subject to booking confirmation by writing to brevissime@gmail.com
