Bollani and Elio conducted by Zubin Mehta

The Mandela Forum on 29 and 30 January 2016

Stefano Bollani and Elio meet the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under Zubin Mehta in two concerts at the Mandela Forum in Florence.

The first date is Friday, January 29, 2016: led by the baton of Mehta, Bollani will interpret the Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Popular song performed for the first time in New York in February 1924. At the opening of the overture of "Candide" by Bernstein and finally the "Symphony no. 9 in E Minor "From the New World", "Antonín Dvořák.

Saturday, January 30, Elio will be the narrator of Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, the famous Russian fairy tale orchestrated in 1936 to introduce children to the world of classical music; and continuing with the Symphony No. 1, the Titan, Gustav Mahler.
