This summer in Florence and throughout Tuscany has been filled with bands, national singers and international stars. August also promises to be full of must-see shows and festivals, let's find out which ones and where together!
VILLA BERTELLI LIVE (FORTE DEI MARMI)
Nestled in the heart of the Dolce Vita fortemarmina, where the night becomes a dancing stage, for lovers of live music the reference point is Villa Bertelli, and right here, the greatest artists of the Italian scene perform live in front of the general public for the Villa Bertelli Live review. We begin on Friday, August 2, with Annalisa. Second appointment to mark in your agenda is the one with all the energy of Emma, guest in Forte dei Marmi on August 3. Fresh from the success of the Sanremo Festival, the very young Alfa lands in Versilia on Sunday, August 4. Pooh are ready to return by popular demand with Pooh - Friends X Always Summer 2024 on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Panriello vs Masini - the return, Friday, Aug. 9. Umberto Tozzi, on stage at Villa Bertelli on Monday, August 12. Antonello Venditti and the big live project Notte prima degli esami 1984-2024 40th anniversary arrives Tuesday, Aug. 13. Mahmood on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Achille Lauro on stage Saturday, Aug. 17. A moving tribute to Fabrizio de Andrè on Wednesday, August 20. We conclude this rich summer of music at Villa Bertelli with Gigi D'Alessio's summer tour on Thursday, Aug. 22.
FESTIVAL PUCCINI (TORRE DEL LAGO)
We move to Torre del Lago to celebrate the Maestro 100 years after his death the Puccini Festival in its 70th edition presents a playbill tracing the artistic parabola of Giacomo Puccini. It features seven Puccini titles scheduled through Sept. 7.
45 FESTIVAL DELLA VERSILIANA (MARINA DI PIETRASANTA)
From the overwhelming comedy of the very young talents of the stage such as Jonathan Canini and Filippo Caccamo, to that of Tuscan newcomer Shamzy, to the profound reflections on gender violence by criminologist Roberta Bruzzone, to those on linguistic intelligence by Paolo Borzacchiello, to the great concert with 200 musicians on stage for Camina Burana and Bolero and the recital concert in homage to Mina by Silvia Mezzanotte. The playbill of the 45th La Versiliana Festival signed by Massimo Martini, artistic consultant of the Versiliana who for the Foundation takes care of the programming of the shows, returns again to unveil itself with a 'wide and polychrome array of new anticipations on the events that will make up the program of almost 50 shows on stage for this summer season.
FESTIVAL MONT’ALFONSO SOTTO LE STELLE (GARFAGNANA)
On the festival stage Antonello Venditti (Aug. 3), Inti-Illimani (Aug. 5), Panariello and Masini (Aug. 7), Paolo Crepet (Aug. 8), Alfa (Aug. 12), Roberto Vecchioni (Aug. 20), and Roberto Saviano (Aug. 22).
From August 23 to 27, the Sea Film Festival - Mauro Mancini Prize/Guido Parigi Award returns to Castiglione della Pescaia. Directing it for the fourth year in a row is Tuscan director and screenwriter Giovanni Veronesi, a native of Prato with Castiglione della Pescaia in his heart, who in 2021 took the baton from its creator and founder, Corriere della Sera critic Claudio Carabba, who passed away in November 2020.
FOLLONICA SUMMER NIGHTS
It starts Aug. 6 with Giorgio Panariello and Marco Masini; Aug. 7 will feature on stage, Tony Boy + Diss Gacha + Slings + Nerissima Serpe + Papa V; Aug. 9 Nayt, born William Mezzanotte; Aug. 10 Aries; Aug. 11 Irama; Aug. 12 a fun evening, I want to go back to the '90s; Aug. 13 Kid Yugi + Artie 5Ive; Aug. 18 one of the most acclaimed musicals of the year, Flash Dance; Aug. 19 a great show of songs, images and monologues by Roberto Vecchioni; the kermesse will end on Aug. 21 with Alfa.
CASTIGLIONCELLO FESTIVAL
In the picturesque setting of Castello Pasquini, concerts by artists among the most beloved by Italian audiences return. The calendar of events includes the following guests: August 3 Alfa, August 5 Russel Crowe, August 6 Paolo Crepet, August 13 Andrea Pucci, August 16 Achille Lauro, August 19 Cristiano De Andrè, August 20 Francesco De Gregori, August 24 Fiorella Mannoia.
SUMMER KNIGHTS (PISA)
From Friday, August 30 to Saturday, September 14, the Summer Knights return to Pisa. The first scheduled event on Friday, Aug. 30 is with Giorgio Panariello and Marco Masini once again together on stage with Panariello vs Masini-Il Ritorno. Saturday, August 31, 2024 appointment with Mai dire Goku, the biggest Cartoon Live Experience in Italy, a fun party of TV theme songs and cartoons from the 2000s to sing and dance Pokémon, Naruto, Rossana, Sailor Moon, Disney masterpieces and many other songs. Saturday, Sept. 7 another fun and colorful evening I want to go back to the 1990s. Monday, Sept. 9 on stage is Andrea Pucci's show, There's Always Something Wrong. Wednesday, Sept. 11, is instead the turn of Alfa. Antonello Venditti takes the stage on Friday, Sept. 13, with Notte prima degli esami 1984-2024 40th anniversary. Finally, on Monday, September 14, the unfailing appointment with Paolo Crepet.
BARGAJAZZ FESTIVAL (BARGA)
The 2024 edition of BargaJazz takes place from July 21 to August 24 in various locations around the country and, for the first time, also in other picturesque places in the villages of Garfagnana and the Serchio Valley. The event began in 1986 as an arrangement and composition competition for jazz orchestras, quickly coming to the attention of lovers of the genre. The festival promptly endowed itself with its own orchestra, the BargaJazz Orchestra, with the purpose of disseminating the compositions proposed by the candidates in the competition. Among the names on the bill: The Swingers Orchestra with Emilio Soana, Rudy Migliardi, Gianluigi Trovesi; Six Friends for Bicio with Marcello Tonolo, Roberto Rossi, Michele Polga; Maurizio Giammarco.
BEAT FESTIVAL (EMPOLI)
Serravalle Park hosts concerts by Marlene Kuntz (Aug. 29), Fulminacci (Aug. 30), Gio Evan (Sept. 1), and Silent Bob & Sick Budd (Sept. 7).
