A special evening at Vicchiomaggio Castle
An exclusive tasting dinner on Friday, November 15, featuring some of the winery's top labels
In the heart of Chianti, the ancient Castello Vicchiomaggio opens its doors for an enchanted evening of elegance and taste. On Friday, Nov. 15, guests will be able to immerse themselves in an exclusive gastronomic experience, a dinner-tasting that promises a sensory journey between refined flavors and exceptional wines.
Leading the evening will be the castle's expert staff, accompanied by Giuseppe Carrus, renowned wine critic and editor of Gambero Rosso's Vini d'Italia guide. Together, they will lead guests through a journey of seven courses, each expertly paired with selected wines. The menu begins with a refined amuse-bouche, and then surprises palates with creations such as Dolce Piccione - a pigeon terrine served with aromatic plum bottom, rosemary bread crumbs, polenta wafer and prune.
This is followed by Cappellaccio, egg, cacio and truffle, a pasta filled with Gran Riserva di Pienza pecorino cheese with yolk cream and fresh black truffle. Other highlights include Testa di rapa...rossa, a Carnaroli risotto with red turnip with cacio e pepe fondue and crispy guanciale, and La gota dal profumo di Maremma, a braised beef cheek with Poggio Re IGT Toscana, accompanied by seasonal vegetables. To top off the experience, a selection of aged pecorino and caprino cheeses, pear cooked in Chianti Classico and their own mustards, as well as a sampling of small pastries. The cost is 80 euros per person.
This evening, hosted in the beautiful setting of the 15th-century castle, is a unique opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience of taste and food and wine culture in the heart of Tuscany. For more info and reservations, click here.
